Measures to support the inshore small scale in the Mediterranean

 

Saturday, November 12, 2016 (11:00) will be held in Astakos (Hotel Giannis Village Resort), informative meeting and debate on the EU pilot project "Support measures for small-scale fisheries in the countries Greece, Cyprus and Malta» (MARE / 2014/04 - SI2.723876).

In particular, during the meeting, after having been informed for the purpose and implementation of the project, the following will take place:

 

  • Discussion on the state of small-scale fishing, organization of fishermen and industry problems of collective representation, the Advisory and EU consultative bodies.

 

  • Formulate proposals to support the representation of this important our fleet section on the mentioned institutions and ways direct and accurate information of the fishermen.

 

  • Presentation of operating a specific website and guide distribution for informing fishermen and their associations.

 

Public and social institutions, fishery associations and fishermen will participate in this meeting, organized by the APC sa, Greek consulting firm, specializing in fisheries - aquaculture sectors, rural areas and sustainable development, who is the contractor of the EU pilot project, concerning Greece and who is responsible for coordinating the implementation for the three countries.
