Measures to support small scale fisheries in EU Mediterranean Waters


An informative seminar will be held in Piraeus on Saturday 28th January 2017 (11.00) in the Apollo Centre (Ermoupoleos Str. – 1, Piliou Str., 18541 Kaminia) within the framework of the project “Measures to support small scale fisheries in the EU Mediterranean waters”(MARE/2014/04 – SI2.723876). This pilot project aims at reinforce the degree of involvement of the small-scale fishing sector in publicly established bodies and other fora and platforms related to the sector. This project is implemented in Greece, Cyprus and Malta.

During the seminar a presentation of the progress of the project will be given followed by discussion regarding the actual situation and the problems of small scale fishing, the representation of small scale fishermen in the EU Advisory Councils and other bodies. Also, the representation of the Professional Fishermen Associations in relevant bodies and means to provide accurate and timely information for fishermen will be discussed.

Representatives of the public and private sector will be present in this meeting, organized by APC s.a., Greek consulting company with specialization in the field of fisheries and aquaculture, agriculture and sustainable development. APC s.a. is the Contractor or the pilot project and responsible for the project management of the project.
